A Mothers Hope

A Mother's Hope mission is to be a refuge for homeless, pregnant women that strengthens their opportunities for stability. At A Mother's Hope, we recognize the inherent dignity and value of every woman we encounter. We know that overcoming homelessness requires tremendous hard work, and every woman we serve must know and believe that she is worth the effort. Through safe housing and intensive, individualized support, residents receive case management, counseling, life-skills education, employment coaching, parenting preparation, and connections to critical community resources, including prenatal and postnatal care. Our holistic approach helps women overcome barriers to success while building healthy, stable futures for themselves and their children. A Mother's Hope currently houses and serves approximately 25 pregnant women and their babies each year. The need for these services continues to exceed available capacity. Referrals come from hospitals, treatment providers, social service agencies, and community partners across Northeast Indiana, and at any given time, 10 to 20 women are waiting for an available bed. To address this growing need, A Mother's Hope is expanding into a second maternity home. This expansion will double the number of women and children served annually and will allow us to welcome pregnant women who already have children ages five and under, an underserved population that currently has few housing options during pregnancy. By investing in mothers during pregnancy, A Mother's Hope improves maternal and infant outcomes, strengthens families, reduces the risk of future homelessness, and equips women with the tools, support, and confidence needed to build lasting stability. Every mother who finds refuge at A Mother's Hope has the opportunity to create a brighter future for herself and her children.
