Abigail’s Arms Cooke County Family Crisis Center’s mission is to create a safer future by empowering families and inspiring change in our communities through education and awareness.
How We Help:
- Emergency Hotline for residents and nonresidents
- Support for residents and nonresidents: We provide help with protection orders, police, hospital & court accompaniment, legal advocacy, child specific services, and crime victims compensation applications.
- Therapy and Case Management for residents and nonresidents: Some of our services include individual & group counseling, play therapy, individual / family case management, and life skills.
- Emergency Shelter: Abigail’s Arms Emergency Shelter is a safe, secure, and confidential facility located in our Crisis Center. It is an essential component of what we do to provide emergency safety for victims of family violence and sexual assault. Our shelter is a warm and welcoming environment, for individuals and families. We have 10 dorm style rooms, with a shared kitchen and living and play areas.
- Prevention Education: The Community Advocacy and Prevention Education (CAPE) Program seeks to build up youth through group engagement, individual support, and leadership programs in the many school districts in the county. We aim to offer a variety of curriculums that cover healthy and unhealthy relationships, bullying, body safety, boundaries, etc. We encourage youth to be agents of change within their own relationships, which in return changes their schools and communities.
