Mommies in Need Inc. dba Annie's Place

Annie's Place is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is caring for children so families can access healthcare. We believe no parent should ever have to choose between their own health and caring for their children.

To support our mission, Annie's Place operates three programs to help families access healthcare: our At-Home program, our Play Therapy program, and our childcare center, Annie's Place - Parkland.

Annie's Place At-Home is our oldest program. This program pairs qualifying families with nannies who visit them in their homes for up to six months to provide childcare in a medical crisis. This program is intended to help parents who are essentially bedridden or similarly unable to care for their children for a limited time. Families must have children under the age of five to qualify for nanny care from Mommies In Need.

Annie's Place's largest program is our network of childcare locations. These childcare facilities are located on hospital campuses throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area and provide childcare services to hospital patients and employees through two programs, our Employee Care and Patient Care programs. Hospital staff can receive childcare at a significantly lower rate than at traditional daycare centers, allowing them to provide healthcare access to patients receiving care at the adjacent hospital. Hospital patients can likewise attend appointments without needing to secure expensive or inconvenient care for their own children.

Supporting our Annie’s Place-Parkland program is our Play Therapy program. A parent’s medical diagnosis can often be disorienting, confusing, and even traumatic for young children. Our play therapy program is intended to help children process these emotions through supervised play and other interventions. In addition, our licensed play therapists are equipped to provide parents with the necessary tools to communicate with their children about their disease in an age-appropriate fashion.
