Book Nook: BeneFactors: Why Some Fundraising Professionals Always Succeed

Welcome to the Stocktoberfest Book Nook!

This week's Stocktoberfest Book Nook features our content contributors Josh Birkholz and Amy Lampi.

Josh Birkholz is the CEO of the international fundraising services firm, BWF. Josh is a pioneer in the field of fundraising and a great philanthropist. Josh has transformed the way we think about contemporary program design, fundraising in a changing economy, and positioning in the high-net-worth market over his almost two decades of counseling the top nonprofits, colleges, and healthcare facilities worldwide.

With over 20 years of fundraising expertise in the performing arts, education, and healthcare, Amy Lampi is an assistant vice president at BWF. She has a wide variety of expertise as a development generalist, from big donations and management of a development team to multichannel annual giving and development operations. Before joining BWF, Amy had development leadership positions in the performing arts, and "The Chronicle of Philanthropy" published an article in August 2016 on her innovative work in fundraising analytics with Josh Birkholz of BWF.

Together, they wrote a playbook called BeneFactors: Why Some Fundraising Professionals Always Succeed, focusing on overcoming contemporary fundraising challenges and equipping nonprofits to thrive in the digital age.

As today’s professional fundraisers go out into the world and try to generate money for their causes and organizations, they are running into new and complex sets of challenges.

In the book, you’ll discover:

  • Strategies for navigating the digital fundraising transformation and how to guide your digital donors through the giving process.
  • How to use data science and predictive analytics to inform your decision-making process and find better results.
  • Ways to banish excessive risk aversion and uncover a boldness you didn’t know you had in you.

BeneFactors: Why Some Fundraising Professionals Always Succeed is a remarkable and informative guide to fundraising in the modern era.
