Dogs for Better Lives
Providing Assistance Dogs since 1977
Established in 1977, Dogs for Better Lives (formerly Dogs for the Deaf) is a national award-winning nonprofit that rescues, breeds, professionally trains, and places dogs with people who have different disabilities and needs throughout the United States. We operate three different Assistance Dog programs that encourage greater independence and success at school, home, and in the community: Hearing Assistance Dogs, Autism Assistance Dogs, and Facility Dogs (that work with licensed professionals or volunteers such as teachers, counselors, and physicians). All dogs are placed at zero cost to the client thanks to donor support.
