Foundation of the Rotary Club of Honolulu Hawaii
The Foundation of the Rotary Club of Honolulu was founded during the Presidency of John Warren in January of 1978. It was formed as a Hawaii non-profit corporation and by 1979, had qualified as a tax-exempt organization under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The purpose of forming the Club's Foundation was to provide a vehicle by which members of the Club could make tax-deductible contributions to support the Club's local and international projects. It was designed then and remains today to be complementary to The Rotary Foundation. Club members are encouraged to make donations to both Foundations, as well as to the Maile Hale Endowment Fund and the Will J Henderson Scholarship Fund.
