Animals Deserve Better dba Paws for Life USA

In January 2004, Animals Deserve Better Incorporated as a non-profit in the State of Georgia; obtaining its Animal Shelter License with the Department of Agriculture for the State of Georgia. Animals Deserve Better, Inc. is located in East Cobb, Marietta, Georgia. In 2019 Animals Deserve Better, Inc filed for and was granted a dba "Paws For Life USA ” as this name is more in keeping with the Service Dog program that has been the main focus of the organization since 2010.

The founder of Animals Deserve Better, Inc., formed the non-profit no-kill animal all volunteer rescue organization after many years of volunteering for Florida and Georgia county shelters and out of her love for the lost, abandoned and neglected souls that she met during that time, the majority of whom never found their forever home or family, but died alone and terrified without knowing or finding that place called “home”. So, Animals Deserve Better, Inc., was born. During the following 10 years over 3,000 animals were adopted into loving homes.

Paws for Life USA gradually became the main focus of the organization. During the prior 30 years of animal rescue and animal training the founder became more aware of the need for dogs that could provide service and assistance to their owners, including a few of the founders own family. Rescuing one life became rescuing two lives. Paws for Life USA matches children and adults with disabilities puppies or young adults to be specially custom trained to be service dogs. Those precious moments when you see a dog working with their handler, helping hear, helping assist and alerting to life threatening crisis are treasured moments never forgotten. Training a dog to assist a disabled child or adult to have a better quality of life, can be nothing more profound or heartwarming. The program specializes in Autism, Multipurpose, Mobility, Seizure, Psychiatric, Hearing, Medical, PTSD, AAI, Facility & Therapy Dogs. Animals Deserve Better, Inc follows the training standards established by Assistance Dogs International and Guide Dogs for The Blind. The hallmark of our program is the meticulous matching to ensure that each applicant is teamed with the dog that best suits their lifestyle, and physical need. Animals Deserve Better dba Paws For Life USA is an ADI candidate, a member of the International Association of Assistance Dog Partners, Association of Pet Dog Trainers and International Association of Professional Dog Trainers. Animals Deserve Better, Inc. dba Paws For Life USA comprises 100% volunteers who are dedicated to helping those with disabilities lead a better quality of life with amazing dogs at their side. The founder and Executive Director is certified with Red Rovers bringing animals from crisis to care, Pet Partners certified team with her dog Troy, CERT qualified (Community Emergency Response Team Cobb County, GA) for disaster relief, she is also certified in animal first aid and humane education. Paws For Life USA added Pet Partners of Cobb County as part of their program which offers training and evaluations for those looking to become Therapy dog teams plus their program offers CPR and First Aid Courses to their service and therapy dog teams along with being available to the general public.
