World Arts Focus is a nonprofit organization that inspires creativity through cultural experiences supporting arts education, job training and a creative community. Two venues in Prince Georges County, Maryland serve as cultural hubs that serve low-to-moderate-income youth, families, adults, and artists from the Greater Washington DC area. Joe's Movement Emporium in Mount Rainier and Creative Suitland Arts Center in Suitland provide space rooted in neighborhoods for artists to facilitate community-led change that generates well-being and belonging, builds wealth, improves health, and bridges the creative divide to increase civic engagement and academic achievement. Our arts and cultural programs provide an integrated approach to education, career development, a local arts ecosystem, and creative wellness. Collectively, these programs let artists tell the stories of this phenomenal era of change by rallying residents, nonprofits, and local governments to overcome barriers, achieve goals, and ensure quality of life. Last year, more than 3,500 youth participated in programs on site, in schools, and in the community, 70,000 patrons visited our venues, and over 1000 artists were on stage or in the studios.
