At Supportive Housing Communities (SHC), we help people find and keep stable, affordable housing. For over 30 years, we've served Charlotte neighbors who have been homeless for at least a year and are living with a disabling condition. We provide financial support (so people can afford a place to live) and case management (so they can keep it). Residents contribute 30% of their income toward rent - a structure that fosters accountability and helps build long-term stability. Neighbors can stay as long as they need, and some have called SHC home for over 20 years. From our sober-living community at McCreesh Place to our Scattered Sites housing across the city, made possible by more than 50 property partners, were working to make homelessness in Charlotte rare, brief, and nonrecurring.
