Our mission is to empower young people linked to disadvantaged backgrounds to achieve full participation in society, regardless of how the world sees them. These young people must learn and grow, gaining a deeper understanding of themselves and of the world around them.
We also know that their communities must simultaneously become more aware and inclusive in order to fully support the unique talents these young people offer.
As an organization, Intertwined seeks to empower the growth of these young people and to engage members of the Greater Houston community and beyond to ensure lasting change. When we respect and appreciate the humanity of all, only then will we work together to achieve peace and progress.
Youth groups: Interactive workshops empower youth by exploring topics such as individuality and uniqueness; race, class and gender issues; identity awareness and advocacy; servant leadership; and healthy relationships. Our goal is to have young people tap into their inner strength as well as into the strength of supportive relationships. Likewise, workshops seek to increase understanding of and empathy for affinity groups such as young women, youth raised in foster care, LGBTQ+ individuals, young men of color, undocumented youth and those from low income backgrounds. Workshops are tailored for groups of young people ages 12 to 18.
Adult groups: Intertwined understands that we are increasingly required to demonstrate competence navigating diverse environments yet often are not equipped with the tools to do so. Workshops explore how our core values impact our human interactions and provide participants with practical ways to honor their own values system while simultaneously creating respectful and meaningful human relationships with those around them. Workshops can be tailored for companies, faith-based groups, parent-teacher associations, educators, or any other groups wanting to build more aware and inclusive communities.

- To better serve our stock and crypto donors, we host giving pages (like this one) so they can donate securities and crypto to other nonprofits from their DonateStock account.
- As this specific nonprofit has not yet registered with us, the donation will be processed and paid by Donatestock Charitable, Inc, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
- Once the gift is initiated, we will contact the nonprofit beneficiary to inform them of the gift and arrange payment.
