Pets for Patriots gives the gifts of fidelity, joy, and love to United States military veterans through companion pet adoption. Founded in 2010, Pets for Patriots partners with animal welfare organizations nationwide to help them place their more overlooked dogs and cats with veterans living in their communities. Pets for Patriots focuses on animals who are adult, special needs, and chronically homeless, as well as large breed dogs, offering them a second chance at life through adoption. To lower lifetime costs associated with pet guardianship, Pets for Patriots gives veterans access to discounted veterinary care, savings on pet food and other essentials, and as-needed support through its hardship fund and hero fund for veterinary care.
