The Professional Women Controllers, Inc. (PWC) is a professional organization founded in 1978 by Sue Townsend and Jacque Smith. The organization was incorporated in the State of Delaware in 1979 and was officially recognized by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in 1980. Since its inception, PWC has been an advocate of a culturally diverse workforce. PWC works with the FAA and other organizations to create an environment where all employees are able to contribute.

ourselves and our members into developing both their personal and professional lives, helping to do the same for women who are considering an aviation career and taking an active role in the organization.
Each year PWC awards a Family Scholarship to PWC Members and/or an immediate family members of a PWC member for any field of study. A PWC Recruitment Scholarship to women enrolled in or attending an accredited Air Traffic Control training school. PWC Special Scholarship, listed below, are awarded to an applicant that has a desire for a career in aviation.
