Southside Family Nurturing Center Mission: Together with families and community we nurture children, build on family strengths, and find alternatives to violence. /Founded in 1974, Southside Family Nurturing Center (SSFNC) was one of the first nonprofits in Minnesota to implement holistic family interventions. SSFNC is grounded in the belief that every child, parent and family has the capacity to reach positive short-term goals and long-term outcomes, given a community of nurturing, love, education and support. Ultimately, we aim to advance health and education equity across race and income in South Minneapolis. We do that by supporting families in accessing the tools and acquiring the skills necessary to build a strong and stable future for themselves and their children. To this end, we herald a holistic, dual generation and trauma-informed approach to advancing our mission including therapeutic early childhood education and evidence-based home visiting.
