Founded in 1961 by a group of dedicated parents, The Arc of Northwest Wayne County ("The Arc NW") is a grassroot, membership-based nonprofit that strives to improve the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Arc NW's mission is to build inclusive communities through advocacy, support, and information.

The programs and services offered by The Arc NW span a lifetime to enrich the lives of people with disabilities and their caregivers. It is through connection to The Arc NW that the lives of individuals are transformed through equity and the ability to plan for a future supported by their community.
