We Rock Cancer

We Rock Cancer’s (WRC’s) mission is to decrease the incidence and increase the survivability of skin cancer. We accomplish our mission by implementing programs that enable early detection, foster education, and support prevention of skin cancer, focusing on under-served and marginalized communities and workers in sun-intense occupations. Our program activities include providing free skin cancer screenings, comprehensive multimedia messaging campaigns, skin protection, and self-exam initiatives with enhanced focus on at-risk and under-served populations. Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in America, and the most curable if detected early. We move the focus on skin cancer forward in the life-cycle, from treatment and survivorship, toward early detection, education, and prevention. We partner extensively with public and private organizations and are increasing our outreach to include Public Health Organizations, health care advocates, and LGBTQ networks. These key relationships have helped us spread awareness of our mission, mitigated the reluctance to seek medical care, and provided mutually beneficial advancements in health care advocacy and support for fulfillment of area health care goals.
