DonateStock supports Sexual Assault Awareness Month

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. According to the Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network, someone experiences sexual assault every 68 seconds. Survivors of sexual violence often experience Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and are at an increased risk for thinking about, attempting, and completing suicide.

DonateStock supports Sexual Assault Awareness Month, seeking to raise awareness about the causes and risk factors of sexual violence. We have partnered with a range of nonprofit organizations and foundations that have created educational programs, public events, and petitions for legislative action to convey the message of awareness, prevention, and resources for those affected.

Houston Area Women's Center works to end domestic and sexual violence and supports all in building safe and healthy lives through advocacy, counseling, education, shelter and support services. HAWC is a multi-racial, multi-lingual agency that supports survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and sex trafficking. They provide immediate access to 24/7 crisis intervention services, ongoing trauma-informed support programs and violence prevention initiatives to survivors, their support networks and communities.
*HAWC's services are free, confidential and available to everyone.

Abigail’s Arms Cooke County Family Crisis Center’s mission is to create a safer future by empowering families and inspiring change in our communities through education and awareness. Abigail’s Arms Emergency Shelter is a safe, secure, and confidential facility. It is an essential component of what they do to provide emergency safety for victims of family violence and sexual assault.

The Women's Home builds communities that strengthen women and support families as they reclaim their stability. They provide housing and supportive services to vulnerable women and families in the Houston area. Their programs serve women and families who are homeless or vulnerable to homelessness—many have histories of addiction, mental illness, and trauma.

Chester Street Foundation provides a voice for traumatized children and educates our community, particularly those on the front lines of the issue, including mental health professionals, educators, and organizations working with children. No child should have to live a life imprisoned by panic, rage, and helplessness. The numbers of suicides, misdiagnosed mental illnesses, and other tragic events will continue to rise until innovative solutions are found to help traumatized children heal and recover.

If you are a victim of sexual assault and need immediate assistance, please contact the National Sexual Assault Hotline: 1-800-656-4673 (Available 24 hours)
